Eden Homes wins more than Gold
at House of the Year Awards 2006.

We’ve only entered the Master Builders’ House of the Year Awards twice and we’ve won four awards.

This year our Sovana house won the Gold Award for the Showhome of the Year and the overall category prize, beating every other showhome in the region. All of which only goes to show that concentrating on traditional design and consummate craftsmanship are still what makes a house a real home.

That’s not to say you can’t move with the times, and we have. We’re not afraid to combine traditional elegance with modern technology and that probably explains why our Sienna house picked up the Gib Living solutions Award at the Master Builders’ House of the Year Awards 2001.

DryBlock - a breakthrough in masonry

A masonry-built home makes a lot of sense. It looks good, is solidly constructed, warm in winter, cool in summer and quiet.

Traditional masonry has been used successfully for many years in New Zealand. However, major advances in masonry technology have resulted in traditional masonry being improved further.

That’s where Stevenson DryBlock solution comes in. Unlike other masonry products that are porous and naturally absorb moisture and water from the exterior, Stevenson’s DryBlock masonry blocks are made using a water-repellent formula. Stevenson’s DryBlocks has their weather-tightness built in.

DryBlock construction is still designed to take a surface treatment – e.g. paint, plaster or sealer – but if there’s a failure in that outer layer, DryBlock provides the confidence of a second line of defence.

Stevenson DryBlock is easily identified by its grey colour, called Fire Ash. All the Stevenson Architectural Masonry range is made using DryBlock technology for added performance and colour fastness.
